Matt Drudge Biography
A perfect combination of good looks and brain, Matt Drudge, the famous American Internet journalist and a talk radio host was born on October 27, 1966 in Takoma Park, Maryland. Drudge was the son of Robert Drudge, a former social worker and Ted Kennedy, a former staff attorney.
Drudge’s life was a common man till the time Drudge Report came into prominence. Around 1989 Drudge took up a job in the gift shop of CBS studios where he was apparently privy to some inside gossips.
This led him to form a Drudge Report which he sent as an email to his friends. The report was then sent as an email newsletter and posted to alt.showbiz.gossip Usenet forum where it was loved and also ridiculed. Eventually the newsletter got into political gossip and moved from email to the Web as its primary distribution mechanism.
In late 1990’s Drudge’s website became a big hit. It started gaining national popularity with breaking news such as Jack Kemp becoming the Republican Bob Dole’s running mate in 1996 presidential election etc.
From 1998 to 1999 Drudge hosted a show called Drudge on the Fox News Channel. He is currently hosting a weekly Sunday night talk radio show. Drudge has also written a book titled Drudge Manifesto. |
